Pre-school
Working with parent's
The Parents/Carers of our children at Salem Laugh 'n' Learn play the most important part of their child's journey. We work very closely with Parents/Carers regarding their child's development.
Together we are a team!
Salem Laugh 'n' Learn hold coffee mornings once a term, during these coffee mornings it gives the child's Key Person chance to catch up with the Parents/Carers and show them the fantastic things that they have achieved. It also gives the children chance to show off what they have enjoyed playing with and who their friends are.

Rhyme Time
We offer selected days and times for the parents/carers to attend the setting during rhyme time. This allows the parents/carers to learn some new nursery rhymes to sing with their children. It also encourages the parents to take the Pre-school environment home.
Story Time
Salem Laugh 'n' Learn have recently completed a Literacy programme to enhance the children's Literacy and be able to offer them the correct learning opportunities to be at the correct level of learning when they leave us to transition to the next chapter in a reception class. Completing this course has made us aware of the importance of Literacy in young children.
Due to completing this course we now offer sessions once a month where we invite parents/carers into the setting to share our story of the term. This enables the parents/carers to get involved with their child's learning and development and again take the Pre-School environment home. We have a preschool library to encourage children to take home books to share with parents/carers we also offer books in different languages to help some parents/carers with home reading.
Home Learning
In our setting we are a firm believer that home to school learning is an important role to a child's learning and development. In our setting we use Tapestry this helps us to keep in contact with parents/carers, we regularly upload observations on the child's learning and development.
To help develop home learning we send home learning packs to follow both the children's interests and also the current topics.
